Joe Dvorak has over 15 years researching wearable systems and devices, focusing on operational simplicity. He was most recently the technology futurist in the Motorola corporate strategy group where he applied his broad background in science and technology to identify emerging technology trends important to Motorola in 3 – 7 years. Prior to that he was the Motorola Scientist in Residence at the MIT Media where he worked with the research groups, worked on usability research, and managed the transfer of technology from the Media Lab to Motorola.
He is an accomplished speaker and instructor, appearing in venues such as the Consumer Electronics Show, NextFest, and on MSNBC TV. He is an adjunct professor in computer science at Florida Atlantic University and the author of the book “Moving Wearables into the Mainstream” published in 2007. He has a PhD in Computer Science with a MS. in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Astronomy. He has 14 US and international patents with several others pending.
